Jamaican New Barrel Rate Recanted and Rescheduled

Issued, November 3, 2012, by the JHCUK.

Good news to the ears and pockets of Jamaicans, “The Jamaica Customs Department has delayed the implementation of increased rates for clearance of personal effects barrels. It says owing to the current hurricane restoration project, the new rates will now be implemented in January 2013. Persons clearing barrels will continue to pay the existing rate of J$5000 per barrel until 31 December 2012. The new rate of J$6000 will take effect on Wednesday 2 January 2013″

Thanks be on to the Jamaican High Command for looking into the eyes of the Jamaican people and did not stifle the holiday’s and Sandy’s storm relief goods to Jamaicans for the holiday seasons.

Now Jamaicans can try to clear their barrel from the Jamaican customs before January 1st, 2013, hurry up nuh man.

This new post is a correction to the previous post [Jamaica, Grenada and St. Lucia Increased or Waived Custom’s Clearing Fees for Shipping Barrels.] of a 30% increase which was ($5,000.00 to $6,000.00) to the Jamaican customs clearance fee that went into effect on November 1st, 2012. The correct increase is 20% which is ($5,000.00 to $6,000.00), now scheduled for January 1st, 2013.

Please take note of this Jamaican duty fee increase correction and rescheduling and also take this opportunity to clear your goods before January 1st, 2013.
